Preparing for Restylane

A numbing cream is typically administered before the Restylane procedure begins to ensure your comfort. Our goal is to minimize any discomfort from the injections. You will be resting comfortably in our private boutique clinic under the care of a team of professionals committed to making your journey to a more youthful look pleasant and rewarding.

Getting Restylane

Restylane injections are relatively easy to administer, and the entire process can take a few minutes to half an hour. Restylane is injected beneath the skin, allowing the hyaluronic acid to stick to the skin. The water in the acid will then help retain volume, restoring your skin’s smooth, youthful appearance.

Recovery after Restylane injections

After receiving Restylane injections, you may experience some swelling for two to three days. Although you can resume your usual activities immediately after your appointment, you should avoid the sun.

24 hours after treatment:

You may see lumps 24 hours after treatment, but this is normal and not a cause for worry. These can be massaged away, but ensure you only massage the lumps; you do not want to move your fillers. Sometimes, patients experience a tingling or numb feeling, which is also expected, and can sometimes last a few days.

A week after treatment:

For a week after your Restylane injections, avoiding extreme temperatures, including saunas, sun exposure, and tanning beds, is essential.
If you take any of the following, avoid them for one week after receiving your injections:

Non-steroidal, anti-inflammatory medications
Vitamin E supplements
Aspirin

Otherwise, you may experience bleeding or bruising.

Two weeks after treatment:

Generally, most patients can see the final results of their Restylane injections two weeks after treatment.

Restylane follow-up care

After your Restylane injections, you should use cold compresses to reduce swelling. The results of Restylane differ from patient to patient, but with repeated maintenance treatments, they can be long-lasting.
